Music is an important aspect of The Cathedral School. It provides an artistic outlet for all students and an opportunity to learn and display musical talents. Basic elements of this discipline, theory and practical application, are offered to all students K through 5. Multiple venues are used each year to give the students an opportunity to display what they have learned for their parents and friends.

We believe that music is an important element in passing on culture. Our music teacher strives to teach music that is important to our culture and the culture of other lands. Students must understand that we do not live in a vacuum, and that the music of a country reflects its people and their values. Our philosophy is that all children can enjoy singing and moving to music. If they learn to appreciate music at an early age, they become excellent participants for life, whether it be as performers or part of the audience.

Each year students perform several programs, those include the Christmas Pageants, Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day and the Kindergarten Circus. Also, all fourth and fifth grade students are welcome to become a member of our school choir, the Singing Saints. This group meets after school and performs several concerts each year.

Music is an integral part of the curriculum at The Cathedral School. We work hard to instill an appreciation for music that will prepare each child for a lifetime of musical enjoyment.
